Welcome to the knowledge exchange website for the Africa Campaign on Disability and HIV & AIDS. The website aims to serve as a communications platform and resource for Campaign partners, supporters and other interested parties.
The 2nd General Meeting of the Africa Campaign on Disability and HIV & AIDS was held March 11 – 13, in beautiful Kampala, Uganda. For more news from the Africa Campaign Management Team, including updates from thematic working groups, visit the News page.
The 2008 International AIDS Conference in Mexico City is just around the corner! Many Africa Campaign partners and supporters will be present at the event. In particular, Mwesigwa Martin Babu, Steering Group member of the Africa Campaign, will be chairing a n oral abstract session on Disability and HIV:
Session Title: Beyond Barriers: Disabilities and AIDS
Session Date: Wednesday, 6 August 2008

The abstract driven sessions will consist of up to five oral presentations of ten minutes each. A five minute question and answer period will follow immediately after each presentation. Please plan to attend the session to reinforce our key messages:
• Persons with disabilities need equal access to HIV information and services
• Persons with disabilities are valuable actors in the response to HIV across Africa

The Kampala Declaration on Disability and HIV/AIDS is an advocacy tool for all Campaign partners and supporters. We invite you to download this printer-ready version in English, French and Portuguese to disseminate at your various meetings and conferences!

The International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) will be held from December 3-9, 2008, in Dakar, Senegal. Don't forget to register online for the event before August 2008 ! Remember that the 3rd Meeting of the Africa Campaign on Disability and HIV&AIDS will be held in Dakar just prior to the opening of the AIDS Conference.
